Having read some completely awful comments and snarky remarks on facebook today, I feel like I had to comment.
I want to preface what I am about to say, by saying that I have never really been that big of a fan of Emily Seebohm. But, having said that, I find the comments I have read today about Em completely disgusting.
I cannot believe the reaction some people have had, to her reaction to winning a silver medal in the 100m backstroke last night. In my opinion, she has every right to be disappointed in not swimming her best in the final. Being upset at not performing your best does not make you a spoilt brat.
When you know you are capable of swimming better (and she is, she broke the Olympic record in the heats) and you don't, of course it is disappointing. When the time you swim in the heats would have been enough to win the gold, of course that makes it even more disappointing.
Being upset by this does not make you a brat, nor does it make you an idiot or a bimbo. It also doesn't mean, and i quote, that "her mother should give her a big slap".
Of course making the Olympics is amazing, as is winning an Olympic medal and she should be proud of that! But when you know you are capable of better, it's definitely disappointing.
Apologies for the rant, but I couldn't sit back and not say something, even if it is only for my benefit.
Rant over.

Olympic Moments: Unbelievable
Down by 3 with 0.6 seconds to go... What do you do?! Throw up the improbable back court 3 pointer of course!
At least that's what Belinda Snell of the Australian Opals did in their match against France last night... The difference is, Belinda Snell actually made the shot to send the game to overtime!
It was seriously incredible... I highly recommend you watch it!! It's available to watch on the Wide World of Sports website here!

Olympic Moments: First Aussie Gold medal
Congratulations to Mel Schlanger, Alicia Coutts, Brittany Elmslie and Cate Campbell on their victory in the 4 x 100m Freestyle relay. They had me screaming as quietly as I possibly could (I didn't want to wake the rest of the house) for the entire race!

London 2012
The Olympics are finally here, and I for one am SO excited.
Ok, I know what you're thinking... sport + b = excited - what's new?!
But I honestly, love the Olympics SO much... It's now 6:30 am on Sunday 29 August 2012 and I have not been to sleep yet... And that was day one of the Olympics... There will be plenty more nights of no sleep, especially whilst the swimming is on!
Tonights night of no sleep was totally worth it just to see that final race!!
The Aussie girls won the 4 x 100m Freestyle relay. It was such a close race. The girls all swam brilliantly, but Mel Schlanger - what a final leg!! AMAZING!
Congratulations to the girls!
Here is to many more gold medals to come!!

Girls Night!
Last night, my lovely ladies and I headed to the Barracks for girls night. Of course we went and saw Magic Mike, which finally hit Australian cinemas this week... ABOUT BLOODY TIME, I say!
Let's be honest, we weren't there for the riveting plot line... We were there to see the boys take their shirts off and shake their bods!
Turns out you see a little more than just their awesome abs...
I've been a Joe Manganiello fan for a long time... But after that... woah! His body is out of this world.
Definitely a great night out with my girls. Lots of laughs, lots of squeals and lots of "oh my gods"!
I'm lining up to see it again tomorrow with another girlfriend who wants to see it...

My Brother's Graduation
Today, my family and I attended my younger brother's graduation ceremony. He graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering with a Major in Civil Engineering.
There were 3 people in his graduation ceremony that graduated high school with me. Seeing them was weird...
Photos of the day to come!

Broncos v Warriors
On Friday night, the lovely D & I went to the Broncos v Warriors game at Suncorp. As per tradition, we started the evening at Iceworks with pre-game dinner and drinks!
It was such a miserable Brisbane evening. I honestly don't think the rain stopped once for the entirety of the match.
Luckily the Broncos won, although the Warriors made a play as the siren sounded, which had my heart rate at an alarmingly high rate!!!
Always a great night out with D!

Fabulous News!!!
Today I got a text message from a dear friend of mine that made me choke up, my heart swell, and tears start to form. And it was all good news!! Probably the best news I've received all year!!
I am so unbelievably stoked for her and her hubby! It's been an emotional few months for them, so I am beyond happy for them!!
Hopefully the second half of 2012 will be a happier, joyful time for all!

Day Twenty-Five: 30 Days of Tennis Challenge
Favourite Tennis WAG
I'm not sure why, but I've always been a fan of Brooklyn Decker! For those who don't know, she's married to Andy Roddick.
The story of how they met makes me laugh! Andy saw her in Sports Illustrated and had his agent track down her number so he could ask her out!
She always looked so poised and composed sitting there supporting Andy. And she's bloody gorgeous too...

Day Twenty-Three: 30 Days of Tennis Challenge
Favourite Mixed Doubles Team
I'll be honest, I don't have one. I don't really watch mixed doubles... I don't think I could even name a mixed doubles team.
Tennis fan, fail.
