On Tuesday night Andrea, Donna, Sian and I went to check out Harajuku Gyoza for dinner.
The food was AMAZING! The gyoza were so yummy, I could have eaten double what I ordered (even though it would have made me ill!) The karaage was delicious also. But I think the highlight, or perhaps the cherry on top, was the desert gyoza! A, D & I all had the apple gyoza and they were amazing. They definitely had more of a cinnamon flavour, but they were soooooooo good!
Overall, I highly recommend and look forward to my next visit!!

Travel Snap Tuesday: San Fran
When I left NYC in January of this year, I headed back to LA to explore a small section of the West coast. Included in my 10 day road trip was a 3 day stay in San Francisco!
I'll be honest, San Fran wasn't my favourite place. But one part of San Fran that I loved was Alcatraz!
Here is a photo of a cell. The reason I am including this photo is for perspective... It is bigger than the single bed hostel I stayed in in NYC. They even had their own toilet in the cell... For a couple of days the toilets on my floor of the hostel were out of order so I had to go down stairs to the common room to use the bathroom... annoying...
This is a shot looking back to San Fran:
The other highlight of San Fran was Ghiradelli! YUM! I had the best ice cream sundae from Ghiradelli!!
And finally, a blog post on San Fran wouldn't be complete without a shot of the Golden Gate Bridge!!

Lunch Date
Today, Tahlia and I went to "Lady Lamington" in the Valley for a late lunch and a few sneaky drinks! I'd never been before, but went there on T's recommendation. Wow, what a little gem of a place!
It was the kind of place I would expect to find in Melbourne, not Brisbane. It has this cute little rooftop area, with big umbrellas and funky outdoor lounges and chairs.
The food was awesome! We had arancini balls and spring rolls. The arancini were AMAZING! I could have easily eaten another serve!! I also had two peach bellinis - yumm!
T told me to "wear something new" from my US shopping haul, so she could see some of what I bought. I chose to wear my Tommy Hilfiger dress, with my Coach wedges and bag and my new sunglasses. Here is a photo of me:
It was a lovely afternoon. Will definitely have to check out "Lady Lamington" again ... Next time, I won't drive!

Cuddles!
I spent yesterday afternoon at my good friend B's house. B and her husband had twins in April, that were born more than three months premmie. But they have now been home for almost 2 months, and are doing really well.
As you can imagine, with twins it's a little difficult to get much done, so B used my extra set of hands to get some cooking done, while I had lots of cuddles with the twins.
While I was in New York, I bought the twins matching outfits. The shirts say "Someone who loves me very much went to New York and got me this". They were too cute not to buy!
Here is a photo of me having cuddles with the twins!
We had lots of fun chatting about our upcoming long weekend at Noosa for the Noosa Triathlon Weekend!!
I always love catching up with B!

S's Engagement Party
On Saturday night we celebrated a good family friend's engagement!
I wore the following outfit:
The dress and jacket are Armani Exchange, the belt is Cue, and I'm wearing black patent/suede Wayne Cooper wedges.
It was a great night, with lots of yummy food and drinks.

Fashion's Night Out
New York Fashion Week kicked off while mum and I were in NYC. And with Fashion Week comes Fashion's Night Out. FNO was started in 2008 by Anna Wintour during the height of the GFC and was seen as a way of boosting sales.
Basically retailers put on food, drink, prizes, celebrity appearances and GWPs etc to entice shoppers to visit their stores.
Mum and I decided to head up to Lord & Taylor, a department store, to celebrate the night. Upon arrival we both received a key. There were 30 locked boxes located throughout the nine levels of their store. Simply, if your key unlocked the box, you won whatever was in the box. Some of the prizes included iPads, Kate Spade leather goods and make up packs. We didn't win anything, but it was still fun searching for the boxes and hoping ;)
Lord & Taylor had plenty of other things going on, including free facials and make up stations, Jockey male models and the NYC fire department signing their 2013 calendars. They also provided free drink stations including champagne, wine, vodka cocktails and tequila!
Shopping and drinking - does it get any better?! hehe.
While we were walking around I was approached by two people who asked me if they could take a photo of me and my outfit for their blog.
Here is the photo they took, minus my head - which I cut out haha:
I was wearing navy Gap shorts, Banana Republic blouse, tan Tony Bianco wedges and tan Tony Bianco handbag.
I also had a photo with the Jockey male models. One of them was tall, and we all know how much I love a photo with anyone who is taller than me!! haha.
I had my six inch wedges on in this photo and he is still taller than me!! hehe
All in all we had a really great night! It was lots of fun, and shopping and drinking should be mixed more regularly! HA!

New York - Part One!!
So incase you missed it, my mum and I recently returned home from 18 days in New York City. We headed over, mainly for the US Open tennis, but we also did a few touristy things and A LOT of shopping!
Part One of the NYC recap is going to focus on the shopping!
And boy, did we shop!
The second day we were in NYC, we headed out to the Woodbury Common Outlets. Now I'd been to a stack of outlets the last time I was in the US, but wooooooooow, these are out of this world! They're massive! So many stores, everything from Salvatore Ferragamo to Calvin Klein to DKNY to Burberry, the list doesn't end!!
Mum and I arrived at 10am and left at 7pm-ish... Many bags in hand!
Some of my favourite purchases from the Woodbury Commons are:
My new coach handbag:
A Tommy Hilfiger dress:
and an Elie Tahari top:
I also grabbed a couple of shirts from Calvin Klein, among a few other things.
We timed our trip really well, because we were there for the Labor Day long weekend, which meant there were some crazy sales going on.
As an example, I picked up a Banana Republic dress over the long weekend sales for $18. Yes, $18. I had seen the dress a few days earlier and it was $47... Needless to say, I'm glad I passed on it two days earlier!!
Other sale items I picked up were:
3 x Armani Exchange dresses (one of which is pictured below)
A pair of shorts from Gap and a blouse from Banana Republic, which I teamed together to wear to Fashion's Night Out. (I will do a separate post on that!)
A pair of Coach wedges:
and a pair of Coach ballet flats:
But quite possibly, my favourite purchase would be the Tiffany's sunglasses I bought!! They just happen to be my first Tiffany's purchase too!
I also grabbed a haul from M.A.C and Sephora.
As you can tell, I definitely shopped up a storm! That empty duffle bag i packed into my suitcase on the way over definitely came in handy!!
Part Two and Three of the recap to come soon!

I'm home!
After an amazing 18 days in NYC, I'm home and the post-holiday blues are already setting in. Lets be honest, they were setting in before I even left NYC.
I can't wait to fill you in on all the shopping I did, the tennis I saw and other bits and pieces from my trip.
