In keeping with the Royal Wedding Theme, my friend Sian and I went and saw "Something Borrowed" this morning...
It was good... But kind of depressing. Like, I understand the premise and I understand what they were saying. But, personally, parts of it were just really depressing. Having said that though, there were some funny lines and in other circumstances you would be really happy for the "love story" part of the film.

Girlie Marathon!
On Tuesday, I hosted a Pretty Little Liars marathon for my girlfriends who wanted to see the show!! We got through 10 episodes, and by the end they were already asking when we could watch the remaining 12 of the first season!!
I was introduced to Pretty Little Liars by my friend Krystle. She had the first 10 eps and told me to watch them... So I did while I was in Melbourne in January. Needless to say, I was hooked!! Then while I was in Japan I got Sian hooked. And now I have the rest of my girls hooked haha!
Anyway, other than PLL and the company, the other highlight was the food. We pigged out and ate heaps of junk! Donna made us chocolate hot cross buns and they were AMAZING! We had savoury pull-a-parts, a stack of lollies, chocolate, scrolls and chippies.
It was lots of fun and I am looking forward to round 2 on Monday!
See you then girls!!

Things You Might Not Know About Me: Some of my Swimming "Career"
So I thought I would share a bunch of facts about me relating to different aspects of my life. I thought I would start off with "Swimming". I spent the majority of my life in a pool of some description. So why not start there. Here are 15 facts about how I started swimming and the first club I trained at:
- I was born on the 19 March;
- That makes me a Pisces;
- I was always destined to swim - from the age of 2 or 3 I was throwing myself into the deep-end of our family pool. My parents freaked and tried to get me lessons;
- The local learn to swim teacher took me and dunked me under the water without warning, I came up screaming and told my mum to "go away, she's not ready to learn to swim";
- A year or two later Mum took me to a different local pool to learn to swim;
- I spent the next 13 years training at that club;
- On my first ever "Club Night" at 4 or 5 years old, my mum made me a catsuit and matching bathing cap for me to race in!;
- She made most of my togs right the way through until my teenage years when chlorine resistant togs came out. After that she made togs for me less regularly, but she still did when I asked nicely ;) hehe;
- Mum told me the other day that I couldn't do butterfly for a few years. Then on the afternoon before Club Championships when I was 9 - I came home proclaiming that "I've got it now!";
- I went on to race the 25m Butterfly at Club Championships and broke the Club Record;
- To this day, I still hold two Records at that Club: 9yrs 25m Freestyle (which I also broke at the same Club Championships, and 14yrs 50m Breaststroke;
- I wore size 6 togs for racing until I was 12... What can I say, they were supposed to be tight!;
- I briefly shared a gym on Saturday's with swimmers like Liesel Jones and Geoff Huegill;
- I spent more time dolphin diving during training when I was little than I did "swimming laps"; and
- I left that club because the same coach I'd had for all those years left a year or two prior and the new one wasn't my biggest fan and he wasn't as good of a coach as my previous coach!
I plan to keep sharing a few "things you might not know about me" as we go along... But this is the starting point :).
Here are two photos of me racing. I am not 100% sure how old I am in them, but I do know it was Mini's (kind of like the Junior State Titles, before they actually had Junior State Titles...) So I am guessing I was 6 or maybe 7?! This was the age group medley relay. I was doing the Breastroke leg :)

Travel Snap Tuesday: Hawaii
I thought for this weeks Travel Snap Tuesday, that I would take you back a few years... OK how about 18-odd years?! Before I was born, my dad won a corporate golf day that my uncle, who at the time was the marketing-something-or-other at TripleM Brisbane, had organised. The prize was supposed to be a round the world trip, but with a few events and then eventually my arrival, my parents couldn't use the prize. So instead they traded it in for a trip for 4 (two years after me, my brother came along) to Hawaii!
While I may have only been 5 (or so) I still have some very fond memories of our trip to Hawaii.
The most touching experience was our visit to the U.S.S Arizona Memorial. The most vivid memory I have is of the wall at the Memorial that lists the names of all those who lost their lives. The list of names just went on and on and on and on. Even at 5, it really made me wonder and reflect.
This is Dad and I at the Memorial:
Other strong memories I have are:

Other strong memories I have are:
- of Hanauma Bay and the insane number of fish that were swimming around my feet! It totally freaked me out and I could not deal!! Still freaks me out to think about it!
- the red convertible my family hired for the week to drive around in;
- the ridiculous number of Japanese tourist who wanted to take photos of my brother and i; and
- probably the most hilarious memory I have is the "prank" my bro played on some of the Japanese tourist who were staying at the same hotel as us. We were in the spa one day with them and my brother jumped out, ran around the back of the pool storage hut and turned the bubbles on. Clearly the girls in the spa didn't a) know the spa had bubbles or b) didn't know where the button was! because they screamed and jumped out of the spa. My brother reappears giggling and laughing thinking he is absolutely hysterically funny!! I'm not sure the girls agreed ;)!!!
Having seen "Just Go With It" yesterday, I really, really, really want to go back to Hawaii sometime soon and make more fabulous memories!!
Travel Snap Tuesday is the brainchild of Little Miss Moi and is about sharing a moment in time through a photo (or three). If you want to join in, simply post a photo of anywhere you have been. Then head over to her blog and share your link so we can all enjoy each others travels.

Sunday Afternoon Flick!
My friend Sian and I have been wanting to go and see "Just Go With It" for weeks...
Unfortunately we had a hard time finding a suitable time for both us! So spur of the moment I called her this afternoon to see what she was doing later this afternoon and lucky for me she was free! So we headed over to Indooroopilly for some Gold Class goodness!!
I really enjoyed the movie! Some parts were hysterically funny, others were typical Adam Sandler! But all in all I would highly recommend it. Loved Brooklyn Decker in it! BD, along with Jennifer Anniston and Nicole Kidman made me realise I need to work out more!! LOL - They all have FABULOUS bodies!!!
Instead, we ate Nachos and Bruschetta and drank vino!!! Oops - guess that want to exercise didn't last long ;) haha.

Things I Love: Miami HEAT
I have always been a sporty kinda girl! From swimming from the age of 6 (until I was 21) and playing hockey for 10 years. To trying ballet, tap, jazz, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, tennis, netball - you name it I've probably tried it. But I also love watching sport as much as I love playing it!!
Enough about sport in general, although I probably should have a general "Things I Love: Sport" post... I'll do one of those at a later date. But the point of this one is to talk about the Miami HEAT!
On Sunday the "post-season" of the NBA starts!! With results going their way in the last few matches of the regular season, Miami avoided a first round match up against the New York Knicks! Instead, Miami will start their run, to what will hopefully result in the championship ring, against the 76ers!
For those who don't know, each match up of the Eastern and Western conference are the best of 7. So first team to win 4 games progresses.
Everyone talks about Miami's "big-three" - LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (pictured below). But for Miami to go 'all the way' this year, it is the other players around them that will need to contribute!!

I'm in for an early start on Sunday morning! After working until 1:30am I will be sleeping for a few hours then getting up to watch the game at 5:30am. Sometimes the time difference between the East Coast of America and Brisbane really annoys me!! Haha!!
Lets go HEAT!!!

Dinner and Drinks with Tom!
Last night I went out for dinner and drinks with my friend Tom. Tom and I trained together for years when we were younger. I don't have much contact with anyone else that I trained with, but Tom and I always try to keep in contact and catch up when we can... That may only be once every 6 months, but we make the effort to try, which is the main thing! HA!
I briefly mentioned Tom here. Tom finished school at the end of last year and turned 18 in December, so while there is a 5 year age difference, we are still awesome friends. He is doing a gap year of sorts in Japan, and after the earthquake, tsunami and everything that happened there, he decided to come home for a few weeks to make sure everything was ok. Unfortunately he is going back today and won't be back in Australia until January/February next year :(
Anyway, last night was the first time that we'd been out since he'd turned 18. So after hearing me talk about Iceworks regularly, he was keen to check it out! He wasn't disappointed and loved Iceworks! YES! I've converted another person into an Iceworks lover haha! We ate, drank and talked for 4 and a bit hours, it went by so quickly it is crazy! We could of stayed there another 4, but with his plane leaving today he need to get home, pack and get a good nights sleep.
We had a fabulous night, and I am going to miss him while he is gone. But look forward to catching up again with him sometime in the (hopefully) not to distant future!

Broncos v Knights - Round 5
Prior to the Cowboys game at the start of the season, my boss at work asked me if I wanted free tickets to the game. Unfortunately Donna, Mellie and I already had tickets to that game. Seeing as we are all saving this year for different things, we have agreed on a few key games that we MUST go to... But other than those we are saving our $$$$.
As I work most Friday and Saturday nights, I normally can't attend without asking for the night off anyway. So when the Broncos had the Monday night game this week I thought I would like to attend...
So I went to work on Friday and asked my boss if he had any freebies he was trying to give away this week! To my joy he said "I do actually - how many do you want?!"
So my beautiful Mum, Donna, Mellie and I went to the game last night thanks to the free tickets I acquired!
As per usual, we kick started our night at Iceworks with a bottle of champagne, some pizza and lots of giggles. We always have a good time at Iceworks - ALWAYS!! Anyway, after polishing off the champagne, and in my case a cosmo from one of the best cosmo makers I know, we headed across the road to the game.
The game was very stressful and Corey Parker's awful kicking display did not help the nerves, at all! But thankfully the Broncos won their fourth straight game of the year 17-6. Even more impressive is there defence!! They haven't let an opposition score in the second half of any game this year!!
Mellie loves Josh Hoffman, who she blogged about in her latest post (you can find it here)... But my favourite player, purely in an aesthetically pleasing way, is Ben Te'o.
I think he is very cute, what can I say! I also think he is very funny. I particularly love this two part interview he gave on Nova 106.9 (Brisbane) after the Broncos pre-season Army camp.
I particularly love it because I cannot fathom anything worse than the "team bonding" bootcamp they were sent on!!
Anyway, very much looking forward to our next bookmarked game against the Storm in May!! Lets go Broncos!

Travel Snap Tuesday: Melbourne
Ever since I went to Melbourne for the first time as an 18 year old for a friends wedding, I have been in love with the place! I've been lucky enough to travel there 5 times in the last 5 years. There was a trip down for my friends wedding, mentioned above. A trip down for a girls footy weekend in 2008. And 3 trips down for the Australian Open.
During these visits I have taken a lot of photos so I would like to share some of my favourites!
This one was taken from Mecca Bah at Docklands looking out towards the Citylink Tollway Bridge.
This one was taken from Murray's Lookout somewhere on the Mornington Peninsula!
And finally, seeing as 3 of my trips to Melbourne have been for the Australian Open, I thought I would post a photo of Rod Laver Arena. This was a night session match between Fed and Hewitt during the 2010 AO.
Well there we go, I hope you enjoyed this weeks Travel Snap Tuesday! Look forward to sharing more with you soon :)

Lola Bear!
Today I had a lunch date with my friend Ang from high school and her gorgeous daughter Lola (my goddaughter)! We went to Iceworks and had a few drinks, some food, and an awesome catch up. It really has been too long since I've seen them!
Anyway, here are two photos from today. Firstly, Lola Bear and I:
And secondly Lola Bear by herself:
She is so damn cute (even if I am biased)! She also has these adorable little traits. I also found out that she likes to spend money. She was very quick to hand my credit card over to my favourite bartender to pay for lunch! haha.

Travel Snap Tuesday: Canada
I've decided to follow in my friend Donna's footsteps (you can find her here!) who is following in Ms Posy's footsteps, who is following in Little Miss Moi's footsteps and post a photo or photos of places I have travelled. I've been lucky enough to travel quite a few places over the years, both in Australia and overseas.
I'm going to start with Canada. In late December 2007, two of my friends Chris and Shaun and I spent 3 weeks travelling around the West Coast of Canada. Two other friends from High School were there too. They did their own thing, but the 5 of us spent a fair bit of time in the same places throughout the 3 weeks.
I'm going to start with a happy snap I took while we were at Whistler.

Shatter Me!
My beautiful friend Shanna bought me the Mini Collection of Katy Perry OPI shades!! And oh how I love them!! She gave them to me yesterday when I caught up with her and some of my other girlfriends. So naturally I had to try them!
I decided to try "Teenage Dream" first and then put a coat of Black Shatter over the top giving me the following look:
You can't see it too well in the photo, but the glitter in "Teenage Dream" shines through and gives an awesome look! I love it!!
Thanks Shanna! Can't wait to try the others soon!!
